Welcome to Marando's Cafe!

Hi there! My name is Carla and I have a passion for creating connection through coffee. The dream is to one day have an actual brick and mortar location of Marando's Cafe but for now, I'm located on the back of a 30 year old mini truck and ready to bring your coffee moment to you!

The name "Marando's Cafe" was inspired by my Italian grandmother's unconditional love and welcoming presence. My grandmother never knew a stranger - you were always welcome in her home, no matter who you were. When you come to Marando's Cafe, that is exactly how you will be treated - like family :)

Starting off with setting up tomorrow morning (Thursday 7/10) at our regular spot downtown for the Farmers Market with @woosterrecreation from 8am - 12pm!

Then we close the weekend strong and SUNNY with setting up next to one of our favorite boutiques in town @sunnyboutiquewooster on Sunday 7/13 from 10am - 3pm!! Super pumped to be setting up here again! Great people, great vibes and fantastic items to shop from!

No such thing as “Sunday Scaries” when you’re headed into a busy week with the truck!

We can’t believe that June is already over! We ended it strong though with our first time setting up in Downtown Wooster for the Thursday Farmers Market! Thank you to everyone that made the effort to stop by that day! I met so many cool people this past Thursday and learned that a lot of you have been following along for a while now!

It seriously just makes my day when people say “yeah we saw on social media that you were set up here today and had to come by to try it out!” Thank you for taking the time to come visit us!!

We will be set up in downtown Wooster at the Community Center to attend the weekly Farmer’s Market put on by Wooster Recreation!

This will be our first week of attendance with hopes to set up every Thursday for the rest of the season ☺️

Had the absolute BEST time setting up for @includeability1 golf outting yesterday!

The weather was perfect, the people were incredible and the coffee was flowin’!

I am so grateful to have had this opportunity to set up for such an incredible, hard working group of people that fuel a mission much bigger than just coffee!

This weekend is the Grand Opening of Eliot Estate Lavender fields in Lakeville, OH and let me tell you, you don’t want to miss this.

Friday: 4pm - 8pm
Saturday: 10am - 8pm
Sunday: 11am - 4pm

Not only will there be some lovely lavender, but there will also be authentic French items for sale in the beautiful shoppe located in the barn, we will be there serving up coffee and a special lavender drink, there will be BBQ and so much more!

The team at @theeliotestate has been working so incredibly hard behind the scenes to make this happen and Marando’s is HONORED to be a part of it!

JUNE HERE WE COME!!

You ever have so many amazing updates to share at once that sometimes you don’t even know where to begin?

Well that’s how we are feeling about June over here, HELLO!

UPDATE #1:
June is purple because we will be spending most our time covered in espresso grinds and rollin’ around in LAVENDER FIELDS right here in Ohio!! Next weekend, we will be set up ALL WEEKEND for the grand opening of @theeliotestate lavender fields! And listen, don’t come for me lol come for the dreamy French experience right here in the countryside of Ohio! @theeliotestate has been working SO HARD to bring this vision to life and I’m telling you, you don’t want to miss it! Check out her page/website for more information!

UPDATE #2:
Starting on Thursday June 26th, we will be setting up every Thursday in downtown Wooster for the Farmer’s Market with woosterrecreation ! This is so exciting to be a part of! For a while now, I have been trying to establish a consistent location so that people can depend on us being set up somewhere consistently rather than randomly! Also, who doesn’t love a good farmer’s market!

This weekend we will be set up at the Wooster Soccer Fields for the Jeff Beery Memorial Soccer Tournament and we could not be more excited.

Not only will this be our biggest event that we have attended yet, but it’s also a really special one, too.

I grew up playing on these very same soccer fields. I have so many fond memories from the many years I spent playing here. To have the opportunity to set up and give back to the community is huge and I couldn’t be more thankful to woosterrecreation for inviting me to come serve up some coffee!

Had the absolutely BEST time setting up at El Campesino this bast Sunday ☺️ even had some down time to play with a drink special recipe that will hopefully be featured only at El Campesino the next time we set up - the churro latte 🥹

While the numbers of a business are obviously important, that’s not how I measure if I had a successful day or not. Success for me is measured in the customer interactions, meeting new people, seeing others connecting with each other around the truck, people sharing their stories with me, and so many other things that aren’t recorded in numbers. And every time I set up at El Campesino, I ALWAYS have a successful day ☺️

It’s taken me so long to get around to putting this video together because I knew this edit had to be special.

When I think back on all the support I’ve had throughout this journey, Alyssa always comes to mind immediately. She has supported me since before day one. It’s almost like she knew I could do it before I even knew.

I could go on and on about all the incredible things Alyssa has done for me but simply put, I couldn’t have made it this far without her support, guidance and love.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you Alyssa. Thank you for supporting me, being a role model in so many ways and believing in my vision since day one!

To learn that my grandmother made the front page of the local newspaper 50 years ago for her impressive garden makes my heart so happy. It just captures the spirit and character of my grandmother so well. She cared so much for everyone and everything. Miss you lots, grandma ❤️

Yesterday was a COLD one, let me tell ya. But it’s honestly going to make the warmer days to come even sweeter.

And let me tell you, I can not WAIT! It’s crazy to think that all of our events have been in colder weather. It’s only up from here!

However, I truly believe yesterday was a test. It was cold, slow and I was feeling under the weather (no pun intended). But in reality, not every single event I attend is going to be a blow out attendance with a drink line for hours. No. It’s in moments like these where you learn that you get to decide how the day is going to go. And truly, we still had the best time ever. Just being invited to set up somewhere and do it successfully is a win every time! And to the people who went out of there way to come support - thank you!! It seriously blows my mind that I even get to do this and then to have such support - it means the world 🤍

Biggest thanks to my team, @amandazerrer and @spike_mill 🤍 they showed up and stuck out the whole thing with me and I couldn’t be more grateful for them!

I wanted to make this video because when shopping for a solution to the noise of my generator, I couldn’t really find a video that reviewed this product throughly. So hopefully this helps!

I am so please with how much this Zombie Box helps cut the noise that my generator makes! As you can tell from the video, it reduces the noise significantly and has changed the experience I am able to provide at the truck ☺️

As I have taken the past few days to reflect on my experience at Window Wonderland, I keep wracking my brain trying to think of regrets, things I would have done differently and any disappointments of the night. And to be honest, I can’t think of a single one.

There were so many things that could have gone wrong that night. Trust me, I worried and freight over every single one. But as soon as I popped open my truck and started setting up, it was game time. And all those worries disappeared.

It was such an honor and such a thrill to meet a lot of you that have followed me along this journey and throughout this whole process. The fact that some of you went out in the rainy weather just to see me and my truck because you knew I was going to be set up truly just boggles my mind. Your support and you taking the time out of your evening to bundle up in layers of warm clothes just to come see me was the best part of my night. THANK YOU to every single person that took time out of their evening to stop by the truck, say hi and even introduce yourself to me. YOU are literally the reason Marando’s Cafe was such a magical experience that night ❤️

With my first ever public event only a few days away, I have definitely taken a moment to look back on this past year.

It has been full of really great moments and really not-so-great moments.

It has taught me so much, including how to be patient and that no matter the problem, there is always a solution.

It was also this same month two years ago that my grandmother, the inspiration behind this truck, past away. Even so, I know she has been with me every step of the way.

The quiet and alone moments I get to spend while driving the truck through town are honestly some of my favorite ever. It gives me time away from social media, away from the noise (I love music but the truck is so old it only gets AM ha!) these are the times when I really get for reflect on how far this coffee dream of mine has come 🥹
